SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) — The Ruby Princess returned to San Francisco Sunday from a 15-day Panama Canal cruise with some passengers and crew associates infected with COVID-19.
“During the cruise we recognized some positive COVID-19 instances amongst our company and crew users,” a Princess Cruises spokesperson explained to KRON4.
All friends and crew on the ship had been entirely vaccinated, the cruise line explained, and individuals infected were possibly asymptomatic or showed delicate signs and symptoms.
The complete variety of infections ensuing from the cruise was not released.
The ship’s health-related staff purchased every person who examined constructive to isolate.
“In collaboration with CDC and San Francisco Department of Public Health and fitness, all those friends who examined favourable and have not completed the isolation period will both return dwelling by using private transportation or ended up provided with accommodations ashore to hotels coordinated in progress for isolation and quarantine,” the cruise line wrote.
Ruby Princess is scheduled to depart San Francisco Monday afternoon for a 15-day cruise to Hawaii.
Cruise ships have been resources of “super-spreaders” for the San Francisco Bay Area early on in the pandemic.
The CDC’s latest COVID warning for cruise journey is Stage 2, that means, “moderate” wellbeing threat.
